Here at Southern Oaks Animal Hospital, we personally understand how anxious you are about your pet's upcoming surgery and how stressful it is to worry that everything will turn out okay.
That is why our surgical team is trained and experienced in using the safest and most advanced surgical techniques available to ensure we will do everything possible to keep your pet's procedure as safe and quick as possible.
What to Expect Before Surgery
Along with your pet's doctor, you will discuss what the proper surgical procedure will be for your pet, when to schedule surgery, and what it entails. You will be asked to remove your pets food the night before surgery and their water the morning of surgery. When arriving for your pets appointment you will be asked to fill out a anesthesia form and the receptionist will gladly help answer any questions you may have at check in.
What to Expect During Surgery
Your pet's doctor will do a complete physical and any necessary blood work before your they go under anesthesia. During your pet's procedure, our surgical team will work with precision and accuracy monitoring your pet's vital signs and recovery until your pet is discharged.
What to Expect After Surgery
Following your pet's surgery, we will notify you as soon as your pet is in recovery and awake, you will receive an update on how well the procedure went and any special instructions you will need to know. Although with most of the common surgical procedures your pet will be discharged on the same day, some surgeries will require your pet to stay overnight, our team member will discuss discharge times when they update you after surgery.
